A Few Of My Favorite Christian Resources

A Few weeks back I promised a few people I would put together a list of some resources I have found incredibly helpful in understanding scripture, suffering, and our responsibilities as Christ followers.

This in no way is a complete list but it is a few of my favorites. If you have any resources that have been helpful to you please feel free to share those in the comments below.

En-Gedi Resource Center – http://engediresourcecenter.com/

This is one of my favorite websites for researching the Jewish perspective of Jesus’ parables in scripture.

That The World May Know – Ray Vander Laan (Formally FollowTheRabbi.com) – https://www.thattheworldmayknow.com/learn

This is another great resource for understanding the Jewish perspective of scripture. Ray Vander Laan is one of my favorite speakers on this topic and I can’t recommend his video series enough. They really are some of the best resources available for understanding the historical and cultural settings of scripture.

Ed’s Story Series – http://edsstory.com/

This is a short video series produced by flannel (who also produced the nooma.com films). It is based on the now late Ed Dobson and the wisdom he gained from living with ALS. It is a series that documents hope found in the middle of suffering. I have recommended this series so many times to friends struggling with all types of situations.

The Hole In Our Gospel – Richard Stearns

When I first heard about this book, I was a bit hesitant because I was concerned it could be a “church bashing book” that didn’t offer much substance or new ideas.

I was completely wrong.

I have read this book at least 10 times. It is essentially broken up into 2 major parts. The first part is the story of Richard Stearns and how he came to be the CEO of World Vision from being the CEO of Lennox table china. The second part is what he learned about poverty in the world from his work at World Vision and what the everyday Christian can do to make a noticeable difference.

This has turned into one of the number one books I recommend.

Loving Jesus – Mother Teresa – https://www.audible.com/pd/Bios-Memoirs/Loving-Jesus-Audiobook/B00I5QG6MW

Most of my friends already know, but I rarely ever listen to music, my inner old man loves audio books and this one is one of my favorites. We all know the legacy of Mother Teresa and the stories in this book cause me to want to show the love of Christ better than yesterday.

Answering The Biggest Objections To Christianity – Ravi Zacharias

Ravi Zacharias is probably one of the most well-known Christian Apologists today. He is known for his Q&A sessions at universities across the world. The following video is just one of many of my favorite videos of his:
