It’s been a busy few weeks here at the Gross household. One of my new projects, aside from organizing the garage, has been to create a short and graphical ebook as a precursor to my more indepth book, “I Forgive Church.”
Well, it’s complete and I’m giving it away for FREE.
So, what is it called?
I’m glad you asked. It’s called, “STEPS – 7 Ways I Found Hope In A Church That Appeared Hopeless.”
I’m so excited to get this book out there in the wild and hear your feedback. In it I narrowed down 7 things that helped me rediscover hope in the church. I should mention, I do not mean finding hope in the institution of the church but instead in the beautiful bride God is perfecting.
It’s like a chiken nugget sized roadmap that doesn’t leave grease stains on your clothes afterward. The words have been kept to a minimum and I’ve included a lot of photos all without watering it down.
We All Know Someone Who Has Left The Church
I think all of us know someone who has either become discouraged with the church or left the church all-together. Shoot, I was one of those people and you may have been as well. The point is, there are a lot of Christians who love Jesus but hate the church. It’s easy to look over these people because they don’t fit the mold of organized church but these are people who are close to my heart and they are the ones I have written this book for.
I left the church over 5 years ago never intending to return. I grew up as a pastors kid, worked for a well known church management software company and volunteered heavily in my local congregation. But, I still became discouraged and later left feeling like there was no possible hope for the church because of her unwillingness to change.
God used those years away from the meeting of other Christians to help me rediscover hope in the church by looking at her through Him instead of the brokenness that surrounded her.
This small ebook is my first step in helping others navigate through the brokenness of the church and come out still seeing hope.
